The Cedar Tree Hotel Rugeley, is an impressive listed Georgian property dating over two hundred years old. It has undergone various uses over it's history from a private residence to being requisitioned by the army in the second world war. It was converted to a hotel about forty years ago with extensive additions including the impressive function suite. The hotel derives it's name from the magnificent cedar tree at the front which is approximately 400 years old and is a famous landmark in the area. A full refurbishment of the hotels interior has resulted in a high quality environment that will impress your guests and also provides exceptional value.
The area has many local attractions close by, being on the edge of Cannock Chase and a short distance from Drayton Manor Park,
Alton Towers, Shugborough Estate, The Nationaland Memorial Arboretum and Lichfield Cathedral.

The Cedar Tree is situated just 5 miles from the attractive city of Lichfield, an excellent tourist location with its magnificent cathedral (top left) and is an attractive alternative to lichfield hotels. Just a short drive away is Cannock Chase (top right), a renowned local beauty spot ideal for picnics and walks. Close by there is the beautiful Shugborough Hall (bottom left), family home of the late Lord Lichfield. There are also a number of good quality golf courses close by as well as Alton Towers and Drayton Manor theme parks within easy reach.
Centrally positioned between the M6 and M42 motorway networks the hotel is a short drive from Lichfield and within easy commuting distance of Wolverhampton, Stafford, Staffordshire County Showground, Uttoxeter Racecourse, Tamworth, Fazeley and of course Birmingham with it's National Exhibition Centre (NEC) close by. The newly re-opened Rugeley railway station is only two miles away and has a direct line to Birmingham. If you are thinking of a golf hotel break there are also some excellent golf courses in the area (see links below), including the Belfry.
